How To Make Creamy Garlic Beef & Spinach

This is one of those fast, high protein meals that works any night of the week.

Tender beef strips, a rich creamy spinach sauce, and simple seasoning that does the heavy lifting. It is filling, low carb, and comes together in one pan. You can serve it as is, or pair it with cauliflower mash or roasted veg if you want something extra on the plate.

Once you make it, it will sit in your regular rotation.

🛒 What You’ll Need
• 1 kg beef stir-fry strips
• 2 tbsp beef tallow (for frying)
• 1–2 tsp salt, to taste
• 1 tsp black pepper
• 1 tsp smoked paprika
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp onion powder
• ½ tsp chilli flakes or cayenne pepper (optional)
• 2 tsp crushed garlic
• 2 cups frozen spinach
• 2 tbsp cream cheese (heaped)
• 250 ml fresh cream
• Pinch of nutmeg
• Extra salt, to taste

👩‍🍳 Method

Step 1: Season the beef
Add salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and chilli flakes to the beef strips. Mix until well coated.

Step 2: Brown the beef
Heat tallow in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the beef in batches if needed. Brown well on all sides. Remove and set aside.

Step 3: Build the base
In the same pan, add the crushed garlic. Cook for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.

Step 4: Cook the spinach
Add frozen spinach. Cook until fully thawed and most of the liquid has reduced.

Step 5: Make the sauce
Lower the heat. Add cream cheese and cream. Stir through until smooth and gently simmering.

Step 6: Season the sauce
Add salt and a pinch of nutmeg. Let the sauce thicken slightly.

Step 7: Combine
Return the beef strips to the pan. Stir through and heat until everything is coated and warmed through.

Step 8: Serve
Serve hot on its own or with a low carb side.

💡 Tips from the Keto Kitchen
• Brown the beef in batches to keep it tender, not steamed
• Let the sauce reduce slightly for better thickness and flavour
• Add extra garlic if you prefer a stronger base
• Frozen spinach works well, just squeeze out excess liquid if needed
• This reheats well the next day and tastes even better
