How To Make A Zesty Keto Green Goddess Tuna Salad

Ready to take your tuna game to the next level? This Zesty Green Goddess Tuna Salad is your go to for a quick, healthy meal that’s loaded with fresh herbs and flavor. Let’s be honest, tuna can be a bit boring, but not today! We’re about to turn that canned tuna into a green, zesty bowl of deliciousness.

Serves 4

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans of tuna, rinsed, drained
  • 6 tbsp mayonnaise (you can use your favourite keto friendly mayo)
  • 1 oz chives, fresh and chopped
  • 1 oz fresh basil leaves
  • 1.5 tbsp fresh dill
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Sea salt, start with 1/4 tsp and add to taste (don’t be shy, us keto peeps need our salt)
  • 2 sticks of celery, diced
  • 1/2 English cucumber, diced
  • 2 cups chopped lettuce (your favourite variety)
  • 1 Avocado, diced

Method:

  1. Prep the Tuna
Rinse and drain your canned tuna using a fine mesh sieve. Get in there and squeeze out every last drop of water. You want that tuna dry—like Cape Town during water restrictions.
  2. Make Your Green Goddess Mayo
In a high-speed blender or food processor, toss in your chives, basil, dill, garlic, and mayonnaise. Add the juice of half a lemon, and blend until everything is smooth and that mayo turns a gorgeous light green. If you’re blender-less, no stress! Just finely chop all the herbs and mix them into your mayo by hand—it’s not as smooth, but it’ll do the trick. Pro tip: Make this ahead of time to let the flavors really soak in.
  3. Mix It Up
Grab a large bowl and add your tuna, diced celery, cucumber, avocado, and chopped lettuce. Now, pour that zesty Green Goddess mayo over the top. Toss it all together until your tuna salad is evenly coated and looking like a green, herby masterpiece.
  4. Season to Perfection
Give your creation a final touch with a sprinkle of black pepper and some extra sea salt if needed. Taste as you go, because nothing’s worse than an under-seasoned salad!

Serving Suggestions:

Serve this tuna salad as a refreshing low carb lunch, or wrap it up in lettuce leaves for an on-the-go snack. You could even pile it on top of your favorite keto friendly crackers for a bit of crunch!
