How to Make A Carnivore Friendly Mac & Cheese

If you’re following a carnivore or keto diet and craving something indulgent, this Carnivore Mac & Cheese is the perfect treat. While it’s not the kind of meal you’d have every day on a carnivore diet, it’s a fantastic option when you’re in the mood for something extra rich and cheesy. Packed with crispy bacon, tender chicken, and a creamy cheese sauce, this dish satisfies those cravings without the carbs. Whether you’re looking for a comforting dinner or a special occasion meal, this low carb Mac & Cheese hits the spot.

Serves 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack (250g) streaky bacon, diced
  • 4 chicken breasts, diced into bite-sized pieces
  • Salt to taste
  • 250ml cream
  • 100g cream cheese
  • 1 cup (120g) grated cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup (60g) grated mozzarella cheese

Instructions:

  1. Cook the bacon: In a large pan, fry the diced streaky bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  2. Cook the chicken: Using the leftover bacon fat, add the diced chicken breasts. Season with salt and cook until golden and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  3. Make the cheese sauce: In the same pan, add the cream and cream cheese. Simmer over low heat, stirring constantly until the mixture is smooth and begins to thicken.
  4. Add cheddar: Gradually stir in the grated cheddar cheese, mixing well until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is creamy.
  5. Combine: Add the cooked bacon and chicken back into the pan, stirring everything together until well coated with the sauce.
  6. Bake: Transfer the mixture into an ovenproof dish and top with the grated mozzarella. Bake at 180°C for 15 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.

Tips for Keto:

For extra flavour, add keto-friendly spices such as garlic powder or a teaspoon of mustard to the cheese sauce.
