These Tuna Chaffles are a crispy, cheesy, protein packed keto snack or meal. Perfect for lunch, dinner, or a quick bite, they’re low carb, high in protein, and insanely easy to make in a mini waffle iron.

🍽 Servings: Makes 3 Chaffles (depending on waffle iron size)
⏱ Prep Time: 5 minutes
🔥 Cook Time: +-4 minutes per batch
🛒 What You’ll Need
- 1 can tuna in brine, drained thoroughly
- 50g cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 large egg
- Optional toppings: keto mayonnaise, cream cheese, or avocado slices
👩🍳 Method
Step 1: Drain the tuna thoroughly and transfer to a medium bowl.
Step 2: Add the grated cheddar and egg to the tuna. Mix well until fully combined.
Step 3: Preheat your mini waffle iron. Lightly grease if needed.
Step 4: Spoon the tuna mixture into the waffle iron, spreading evenly. Close the lid and cook for about 4, or until golden and cooked through. An easy way to tell if it’s done is that steam will stop escaping from the sides of the waffle iron.
Step 5: Carefully remove the mini chaffles and let them cool slightly. Serve with a dollop of keto mayo, cream cheese, or slices of avocado.
💡 Tips from the Keto Kitchen
- Make sure tuna is well drained to avoid soggy chaffles.
- Use a non-stick or lightly greased waffle iron for easy removal.
- Double the batch and freeze extras for quick keto meals.
- Top with fresh herbs like parsley or chives for extra flavour.
